About the role
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Software Test team. You and your team will be responsible to ensure that the high safety requirements for the sensor firmware are fulfilled, bugs are detected early and the software development is accelerated. The team is part of the Munich Embedded Systems team which plans and implements the complete SW stack for all Cruise High Resolution Radars. Starting with the drivers for the inhouse designed HW, developing the algorithms, building the firmware and releasing high quality firmware to the fleet of autonomous driving cars.
About the role:
- Manage the SW Test team, currently consisting of four test engineers, as part of Embedded Systems in Munich
- Setting up adapted test processes and a test infrastructure to secure the firmware development for our radar sensors in different levels of the development process
- Ensure consistent interpretation of test cases based on requirements and the sensor and software architecture
- Create a constructive and healthy work environment that involves employees and allow them to actively contribute to the success of the team
- Planning of test activities in alignment with the development team and subproject leads
- Translation of business objectives regarding quality and the achievement of process requirements derived from ISO26262 into the daily workflow
- Definition, setup and maintenance of a HIL test infrastructure to perform automated regression, release and long-term tests for different sensor generations
- Establishment of a workstream that ensures that test results are fed back into development and that bugs can be fixed quickly and comprehensively
- Set up a documentation workstream
- Work with Senior Managers, Engineering Directors, and Technical Program Managers to create and complete a roadmap for your team
- Leading career development initiatives, including coaching and mentorship, for all
- Help to define, build, and embody Cruise engineering culture and principles
Your profile
- University degree in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, Electrical Engineering, or similar
- Profound experience in leading a test team
- Several years of experience in developing software verification and validation tests
- Expert level skills in C/C++ and Python
- Experience with relevant tools for static and dynamic software tests (Google Test, LDRA)
- Experience in the usage of requirements management tool, preferred JAMA
- GitHub and git experience
- Experience with Jira/Confluence
- Experience testing automotive (ISO 26262), medical devices, aviation or other safety critical application
- You are characterized by a systematic approach to planning and implementing test methods
- You are innovative and also think about the development goal when solving detailed tasks
- High readiness for teamwork
- Self-management
- Profound English language skills and at least intermediate German language skills
